Group HR Business Partner - West Cornwall / Hybrid - £60,000
A well-established and growing Cornish business is looking to appoint an experienced Group HR Business Partner to take responsibility for the HR function across the Group.
With more than 350 employees across a number of successful businesses, this is a broad HR role covering both strategic and operational activity. The existing HR team is already established, and the focus will be on providing leadership, developing the team and continuing to strengthen the HR function as the Group grows.
The role works closely with Directors and senior managers across the business, providing advice and guidance across the full HR remit. There is also plenty of scope to influence how HR develops, improve existing processes and make a real difference to the wider employee experience.
The senior leadership team is entrepreneurial and forward-thinking, so this is a busy environment where HR has a genuine voice at senior level.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the existing HR team
- Work with Directors and senior managers to develop and deliver the Group HR strategy
- Provide advice and guidance across employee relations, employment law and general HR matters
- Manage complex disciplinary, grievance and investigation processes
- Review and develop HR policies and procedures
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, retention and talent attraction
- Support managers with performance management, development and succession planning
- Lead learning and development activity across the Group
- Review remuneration, benefits and employee engagement
- Oversee HR systems, employee records and GDPR compliance
- Support the development of a positive and inclusive workplace culture
- Provide HR support across different Group locations, with some travel required
About the person:
This position would suit an experienced HR professional with a strong generalist background and previous experience of leading or managing an HR team.
A strong understanding of UK employment law is essential, along with hands-on experience across employee relations, recruitment, performance management, HR policies and wider people matters.
Experience of working closely with senior management or at Board level would be beneficial, as would experience within a larger, multi-site or fast-moving commercial business.
Strong communication and influencing skills are important, together with the confidence to provide practical advice and challenge when required.
CIPD Level 5 or above, or equivalent experience, is preferred. Experience with modern HR systems and technology would also be advantageous.
The role offers:
£60,000 salary
Monday to Friday, full-time
Three days on site and two days working remotely
The opportunity to lead an established HR team
Regular exposure to Directors and senior leadership
A broad Group HR role with the opportunity to shape and develop the function
This would suit an experienced Group HR Business Partner, Senior HR Business Partner or HR Manager looking for a broader role with strategic responsibility and genuine influence across a growing business.
