HR Advisor – Part-Time | 3 Days or Flexible Over 4 Days | £40,000 FTE

Well Placed HR are delighted to be supporting Tregothnan with the appointment of a part-time HR Advisor.

This is a stand-alone HR position with genuine ownership of the day-to-day HR function. Working the equivalent of three days per week, there is flexibility to work the hours across either three or four days, providing an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional looking for greater flexibility.

The HR Advisor will work closely with managers and employees across the organisation, providing practical HR advice across the full employee lifecycle and supporting the continued development of HR policies, processes and employee relations.

This opportunity would suit an experienced HR Advisor, HR Officer or HR Manager looking for a part-time position with autonomy, variety and a broad generalist remit.

The role

The HR Advisor will take responsibility for a broad range of HR activity, including:

• Providing day-to-day HR advice, guidance and support to managers and employees
• Managing employee relations matters including absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance cases
• Supporting recruitment and onboarding processes
• Supporting payroll and benefits administration
• Developing, reviewing and implementing HR policies and procedures
• Producing HR reports and providing recommendations to improve HR processes
• Ensuring HR policies and practices remain compliant with current UK employment legislation
• Supporting managers with effective people management and employee relations
• Contributing to initiatives designed to support employee engagement and positive employee relations
• Maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring HR processes and documentation are kept up to date

About the candidate

The successful candidate will have previous experience working at HR Advisor level or above, together with a strong and current understanding of UK employment legislation.

This is a stand-alone role, so the ability to work independently and provide confident, practical HR advice is important. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing a varied workload, making sound decisions and building effective relationships with people at all levels.

Key requirements include:

• Previous experience in an HR Advisor, HR Officer or HR Manager position
• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice
• Experience managing employee relations, including disciplinary and grievance processes
• Good understanding of recruitment, absence and performance management
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A professional, approachable and pragmatic manner
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and HR systems
• CIPD qualification is advantageous but not essential

The role offers the flexibility of a three-day working week, with the option to spread the hours across four days. It provides the opportunity to retain a broad and meaningful HR remit while working a reduced number of hours.

There is also scope to review and improve existing HR processes, support managers with their people responsibilities and contribute to the continued development of the organisation.
